My story

I left home and school at a young age. I left and went searching for something, whether it was people, a place or a feeling I was so very lost for such a long time. Constantly looking for this thing, this intangible thing that would define me and give me purpose. I moved around, suffered loss and trauma, struggled with addictions and mental health.

Then I fell in love and had my kids and I’d found my purpose, but I needed to be better for my whānau. I started art therapy as a way to reconnect with my inner child and re learn healthy coping strategies, before long the clay was shaping and teaching me mindfulness, patience and perseverance. I’d finally found the thing I’d been searching 30 years for, and I’d found myself.
